Approach to Care

My therapy style is warm and empathetic, with a non-judgmental stance. I encourage clients to share at their own pace and ask questions within respectful boundaries. I often begin by exploring their interests and strengths outside of their current mental health challenges.
I use CBT, DBT, and various person-centered approaches to support emotional exploration, communication skills, interpersonal resolution, and coping strategies. My sessions may include psychoeducation, structured problem-solving, and tools for managing anger and relationship patterns. I also incorporate Hypnosis and Trauma-informed care, offering clients evidence-based strategies that honor the impact of past experiences while fostering safety, trust, and empowerment.

Why I Do This

As a former secondary math teacher, I witnessed how family dynamics—such as divorce or loss—can deeply affect students and their parents. Due to role limitations, I couldn’t provide the support they needed, which inspired me to become a therapist and offer more direct, meaningful care.

What a First Session Will Be Like

A first session with me is casual and client-centered. If you are able, I may suggest going for a walk or meeting in a space where you feel most comfortable. I believe clients thrive when they can choose the environment that best supports the start of a therapeutic relationship.

Personal Interests

I thrive in the great outdoors and head outside whenever the weather allows. I’m a devoted dog lover and enjoy long walks year-round with my two-year-old Golden Retriever/Pit Mix. She’s a sweet girl who’s still learning to feel comfortable around others. I’m also a proud fan of all Minnesota sports—cheering on both men’s and women’s teams in hockey, football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.
