Approach to Care

I operate from a core belief that all behavior makes sense within its context. If I don’t understand a client’s behavior, I explore their environment and experiences more deeply. I believe clients are doing the best the can with what they have, and not all clients have all of the skills or tools needed to live their lives the way they want to. I tailor my approach to meet clients where they are. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) an evidence-based modality that focuses on helping clients develop skills to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and tolerate distress. I also specialize in trauma-informed care, which emphasizes safety, trust, and empowerment while honoring the impact of past experiences on present behavior.

Why I Do This

If you’ve struggled to find effective therapy or regulate your emotions, I may be the right fit for you. I’m passionate about intersectionality, trauma, minority experience and supporting individuals who are underserved by traditional mental health systems. I specialize in working at the intersections of LGBTQIA+ identity, neurodivergence, and trauma, offering respectful, culturally humble, and non-judgmental care.
