About Pathways Counseling Center

Pathways Counseling Center is excited to offer a clinical internship opportunity within our expanding LGBTQIA+ Program, directed by Jen Reddig, MA, LMFT.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to serve clients within the LGBTQIA+ community while developing advanced clinical skills in a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive environment. Our team is growing rapidly, and we’re seeking interns who are passionate about making a meaningful impact and growing both personally and professionally alongside us.

Program Overview

Interns in this program will gain experience providing psychotherapy and diagnostic assessments for individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. Experience working specifically with LGBTQIA+ clients is preferred but not required, as specialized training and ongoing consultation are provided throughout the internship.

Time Commitment

  • A minimum of ten clinical services per week (e.g., diagnostic assessments or psychotherapy sessions) is required.
  • The internship duration is a minimum of one year.
  • Including meetings and documentation, this generally requires about 20 hours per week.
  • Additional clients are available if you wish to increase your caseload or gain more experience.

Structure and Supervision

  • Interns receive supervision hours toward licensure (when applicable) at no cost.
  • You will participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and optional advanced trainings.
  • Administrative time between sessions is not reimbursed; however, any billable service time (psychotherapy or assessment) is compensated through the internship agreement.
  • Interns are supported by both their direct supervisor and the broader Pathways leadership team.

Why Choose Pathways?

Interns at Pathways benefit from more than just clinical experience. We are proud to offer an environment that supports whole-person growth and long-term professional success:

  • No supervision costs – saving you hundreds of dollars as you complete your licensure hours.
  • Flexible scheduling – balance your academic and personal responsibilities while building a strong caseload.
  • Structured mentorship and team collaboration – access resources, consultation, and support to ensure confidence and competence as you grow.
  • Proven success track record – every intern in the past eight years has chosen to stay with Pathways after completing their internship, continuing as a contracted provider.
  • Free access to online CEU courses – typically valued at $100–$200 per course, available at no charge to interns.
  • Inclusive, nurturing culture – our team values authenticity, compassion, and belonging. We recognize the person behind the professional and are committed to your growth both clinically and personally.
  • Community and connection – opportunities (not requirements) to join Pathways events and celebrations, fostering genuine relationships and a sense of belonging within our vibrant team.

Post-Internship Opportunities

Upon successful completion of the internship, interns are often invited to continue at Pathways as contracted providers. This continuation includes:

  • Higher compensation rates for clinical services
  • Ongoing supervision hours covered by Pathways

The ability for clients to continue working with the same therapist, supporting continuity of care and professional growth
